Mont Blanc Is A Tourist Must See

Published by admin

Mont Blanc, or Monte Bianca, is a must see for tourist. It is the highest mountain in the Alps, and in the European Union. The mountain is located on the border of Italy and France, with the largest portion resting in Italy. This is a popular mountain for climbing, hiking, snowboarding, and skiing, as it is large enough to be challenging, but not as dangerous, for example, as Everest. This does not, however, mean that there is no danger. Mont Blanc, like many mountains, claims a few lives every year.

Mont Blanc’s summit reaches 15,782 ft above sea level, and it for it sits at 11th place in world topographic prominence. The two best known towns near Mont Blanc are Chamonix, in France and Courmayeur, in Italy. A cable car offering a spectacular view runs between Chamonix and Courmayeur. Also, connecting France and Italy, and running beneath Mount Blanc is the Mont Blanc Tunnel. This tunnel is a major trans-Alpine transport routes

The main climbing season is around August, and on average 20,000 climbers a year attempt this trip. Dangers such as altitude sickness, rock slides and delicate passages contribute to the climbers struggles. A guide, proper equipment and a working knowledge of high altitude climbing are needed for this ascent.

If you wish to take in the view without the climb a cable car can transport you to within 1000 feet of the peak. Breathtaking mountain views increase as you travel higher. After riding the cable or climbing the mountain, travellers can return to earth and enjoy the local nightlife. Family attractions include destinations like Mt. St Sauveur Water Park and Jungle Magique giant play park.

Monte Blanc is a must see for singles, couples and families alike. Whether you wish to ski, hike, climb or just take in the breathtaking view.
