Canadian Holidays
If you’re planning a trip (business or pleasure) to Mont Blanc you may need to be aware of the statutory holidays and school breaks the country recognizes so your trip can be orchestrated around any down-time or busy time.
- New Year’s Day (January 1st)
- Good Friday (Varies)
- Easter Monday (Varies)
- Journe nationale des patriotes (Patriots’ Day, always the second-to-last Monday in May)
- Fte nationale du Qubec (Qubec’s national holiday, always June 24)
- Canada Day (July 1)
- Labor Day (first Monday in September)
- Thanksgiving (second Monday in October)
- Christmas Day (December 25)
Also, keep in mind that students are off for a week-long break in November and another in March. The weeks vary depending on the region, so it’s best to check with a local resource before committing any travel plans to stone. Also of note, about 25 percent of Quebec’s workforce takes vacation the last two weeks of July; and while Mont Blanc is a winter playground the abundant other seasonal activities might be impacted by this worker hiatus.
